Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to all tyre collection, recycling, and related services provided by DME Tyres Ltd (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By booking or using our services, you (“the customer”) agree to the following:
1. Collections
- All collections require 7–10 working days’ notice so we can plan our drivers’ routes efficiently and in an environmentally responsible way.
- While we strive to meet requested dates, collection times cannot be guaranteed and are subject to availability.
- We reserve the right to refuse collection if tyres are not stored safely or are contaminated with hazardous substances.
2. Customer Responsibilities
- It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure all tyres are stored safely and appropriately at their premises.
- Tyres must be accessible for our drivers upon arrival.
- Tyres must be free from rubble, hazardous substances, or any other contaminants.
- Any rubbish or non-tyre waste mixed in with the tyres must be removed prior to collection.
- The customer confirms they are the legal owner of the tyres or have full permission to dispose of them.
- Accurate details, as accurately as possible, (number, type, and condition of tyres) must be provided at the time of booking.
- For clarity and protection, our drivers may take photographs of tyres, storage conditions, access routes, and quantities upon arrival. These serve as evidence in case of disputes regarding tyre numbers, accessibility, or wasted journey fees.
- Customers are responsible for providing any site-specific safety information, inductions, or additional PPE requirements that apply at their premises. This information must be communicated in advance where necessary so our drivers can comply with your site rules.
- The driver will count the tyres as they are loaded. Whilst our drivers are always fair and honest, we recommend counting the tyres with the driver so the total is agreed on both sides. Any discrepancies with tyre counts must be raised immediately, as once the driver unloads back at site, the tyres will most likely be destroyed in the recycling process and nothing can be done.
3. Pricing & Payment
- Prices differ depending on tyre size, type, quantity, collection location, and accessibility.
- A price must always be agreed before a collection can take place.
- Unless otherwise agreed, payment is required at the point of collection by card, BACS, or cash when the waste transfer note is exchanged.
- Customers may apply for a credit account by completing a credit application form, subject to approval.
4. Cancellations & Wasted Journeys
We reserve the right to charge a wasted journey fee if:
- A collection booked in advance is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice.
- The number of tyres available is more than 100 tyres fewer than estimated.
- Fewer than 50 tyres are available for collection in total, and we have not been informed in advance and a price agreed.
- The driver cannot safely access tyres on arrival due to poor storage, blocked access, or unsafe conditions.
5. Waste Transfer Notes
- Every collection is accompanied by a Waste Transfer Note, a legal document proving your tyres are in transit to our Burntwood site in full compliance with UK law.
- Our Burntwood site holds its own full Environment Agency licence for safe storage and recycling, ensuring full compliance from start to finish.
- Customers must keep a copy of the Waste Transfer Note for their own compliance records.
6. Liability
- DME Tyres Ltd accepts no responsibility for tyres until they are loaded onto our vehicle and the controlled waste document (Waste Transfer Note) is signed.
- We are not liable for delays caused by traffic, breakdowns, weather conditions, sudden staff shortages, or events outside our reasonable control.
- Customers remain legally responsible for ensuring their tyres are collected by a fully licensed operator. By choosing DME Tyres Ltd — a fully licensed and accredited operator — you can be assured this responsibility is fully met.
- We are not responsible for any loss of earnings, disruption, or inconvenience caused if one of our vehicles must temporarily block access to your premises while loading.
7. Licensing & Compliance
- DME Tyres Ltd operates as a fully licensed waste carrier and holds a full Environment Agency site licence for storage and processing.
- We are ISO 14001:2015 environmental accredited, WAMITAB qualified, and full members of the Tyre Recovery Association (TRA) and the Responsible Recycler Scheme.
8. Deliveries to Site
- Customers wishing to deliver tyres directly to our Burntwood facility must book a date and time in advance.
- All tyres must be pre-sorted by type (e.g., car, truck, agricultural, motorcycle, tyres on rims) before delivery.
- Unsuitable loads, mixed waste, or contaminated tyres may be refused.
By using our services, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
